Drumbuddy & organ player for 15 years Plays in Quintron & Miss Pussycat
"Honestly, the NOMC was the difference between staying here in
New Orleans and leaving for greener pastures. I have spent my entire
life as a musician and not until I hooked up with the NOMC did I feel
genuinely ‘respected’ as a part of the workforce in my hometown.
Awards, magazine covers, and public accolades are one thing but
to be taken care of medically is a true blessing. Just because you
do not work for a company and have a steady paycheck does
not mean that you do not work for the good of the city and do not
deserve the same benefits. I could go on and on really, I would be
screwed without you guys, and having this service available to me
and my colleagues in music will keep us here forever.
"‘Uh...do your teeth hurt? Mom and Dad don’t make six figures?’ I
had tons of cavities in my teeth and just let ‘em get worse and worse
over the years because I could not afford it. After joining the clinic
they were all fixed within one year."
Guitarist, pianist & banjo player for 44 years
Plays in N.O. Ragtime Orchestra, Preservation Hall,
Palm Court Jazz, & Lars Edegran Triolian String Band
"NOMC is the best, and cheapest, health care you can get, why would anyone not use it? I have health insurance but I still go to the NOMC because it’s cheaper than paying my deductible."

Vocalist in New Orleans for 5 years
"The NOMC keeps me healthy, and their sponsored Wednesday
nights at St. Anna’s Episcopal Church have a great vibe.
"To those musicians who do not go to the NOMC, after I smack
you over the head, I would ask ‘How could you not take
advantage of something so terrific?’"

Trombone & tuba player for 28 years Bonerama, Treme Brass Band, & Storyville Stompers
"I feel comfortable going to the NOMC. I trust them to do what is in
my best medical interest, and they show lots of love and care.
"Healthy musicians mean healthy music and culture. It is our
responsibility to take care of ourselves."

Keyboardist & guitarist for 29 years Plays with Bonnie Raitt &
The Absolute Monster Gentlemen
"The NOMC is a rare privilege. It’s a safety net for
musicians who work in unhealthy environments."
"Being a musician on the road a lot, knowing that
I have electronic medical records via the NOMC/
LSUHN is very reassuring. I have, in the past, had
the misfortune to fall ill overseas. Knowing that my
NOMC doctors willingly communicate with other
doctors the world over on my behalf is nothing short
of a gift."

Vocalist for 50 years
"I could say so much about the NOMC. It’s the best thing that happened to us musicians in New Orleans."

Professional harpist for 38 years
"NOMC gives me the promise of good health
care, which is a wonderful thing.
"Those musicians who are not patients are missing the
great benefits of being part of the NOMC community."
