The NOMAF Emergency Fund was established in 2007 through the generous support of two private donors. Through this donor advised fund, disbursements are made for individual local musicians deemed ineligible to receive assistance from other organizations for support to pay basic living expenses. It can only be applied for by the NOMC Social Services staff on behalf of a client or their family for emergency needs which fall within the guidelines established by the NOMAF board. Since its inception in 2008, NOMAF has distributed close to $100,000 in emergency funds to New Orleans’ musicians in times of extreme hardship.
