ReStrung is sold locally at Red Lantern, Bon Castor, Glam 504, Forever New Orleans and they regularly have a pop-up shop at the New Orleans French Market in addition to their online store

Her signature line draws inspiration from nature – using ethically sourced stones and 14-karat gold leaf – the collection evokes her interpretation of tidal waves, vines, flora and fauna. “At first the process was marked by trial, error and an insatiable need to make things,” says Celestin. It was also spurred on by a lot of client demand- the day she “tested the waters” by posting her first 3 pieces on the popular crafts website, Etsy.com, 2 sold the same day. Those initial sales gave her the confidence to move forward.

From the start, Naomi has donated a percentage of her profits to the New Orleans’ Musicians Clinic. About a year ago a dear friend of hers, Andy Cornett who played with Henry Gray and the Cats for over 25 years, fell ill with no health insurance or primary care provider. When doctors in the ER could not help, he sought care through the Healthcare for Musicians project at the Southwest Louisiana Area Health Education Center, where doctors diagnosed him with Lyme Disease and delivered care to enhance his quality of life. Naomi is honored to give back to organizations with a commitment to serve our region’s artists by providing easily accessible, comprehensive healthcare. When you’re buying gifts this holiday season, support socially minded artists like ReStrung to spur positive cultural growth and to Keep New Orleans’ Music ALIVE.

Together with her team, including local singer/songwriter Truman Holland, (ReStrung’s “Bangle Boy, named for his talent in the tricky task of looping bangles and earring forms), Tara Rodgers (ReStrung’s Supreme Sales Executive) and Dona Celestin (Naomi’s Aunt, who manages the finances and helps with online sales)- ReStrung has successfully expanded its loyal customer base to include everyone from tweens and grandmas to rockers and their girlfriends.

First Time Four of the New Orleans Radiators Play Together Since Retirement

September 29, 2012 (New York, NY) – Continuing in the tradition of “Down on the Bayou”, an annual benefit held during the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival now in its fifth year, a collection of New Orleans’ most beloved artists will come together for a funk-filled jam session to benefit The New Orleans Musicians Assistance Foundation (NOMAF) for one night only in New York City. Mistress of ceremonies Christine Ohlman (Beehive Queen, Saturday Night Live) will host the event on Thursday, October 11th, 2012 and will sit in with members from The Radiators, Neville Brothers, James Brown Band, Joss Stone Band, Dirty Dozen Brass Band, Leo Nocentelli Band, and many more. The evening is presented by the Jeffrey A. Altman Foundation & Shari Frank.NOMAF is most notably known as the 501(c)(3) not-for-profit that shepherds the New Orleans Musicians’ Clinic, an innovative health service devoted to musicians and culture bearers, located in the heart of New Orleans.

This very special evening will take place at Beekman Beer Garden, 89 South Street at the South Street Seaport. Doors open at 7pm, show starts at 7:30 PM. Early detection is critical to saving the lives of musicians who keep the music and culture of New Orleans alive. More information about this unique alliance can be found here: http://www.nomaf.org/hem_health_screening_initiative.php

The program was created by NOMAF in memory of Herman Ernest, the much loved “diesel funk drummer” who performed for decades with Dr. John. Mr. Ernest’s recent death from head and neck cancer was a shock to the music community in New Orleans, and the world over.
